A new book on mental health courts in Canada is now available for purchase online. Mental Health Courts: Decriminalizing the Mentally Ill, was written by Richard Schneider, a jurist and psychologist who presides over the Ontario Mental Health Court; Hy Bloom, a forensic psychiatrist and lawyer; and Mark Heerema, a graduate student at the University of Cambridge.

The book provides an overview of the historical and theoretical foundations of mental health courts in Canada, provides a thorough description of mental health court operations, and analyzes the successes and failures of such programs.
