Resources

The Justice Center has developed an extensive collection of publications, tools, and resources to help policymakers, practitioners, and others increase collaboration between the criminal justice and mental health systems and improve the responses to individuals in contact with both systems.

The Justice Center maintains an interactive online Local Programs Database of collaborative criminal justice/mental health initiatives across the country. Browse hundreds of specialized law enforcement programs, mental health courts, and specialized corrections and community corrections programs; network with program planners and administrators tackling similar issues; and add your program to the database.

The Justice Center Publications section contains a library of practical, nonpartisan, and consensus-based materials—developed by Justice Center staff and informed by available evidence—for policymakers, practitioners, and others working to ensure better public health and public safety outcomes for individuals with mental illnesses.

The Research/Document Library catalogues journal articles, policy reports, program evaluations, and other documents produced by researchers, policymakers, and practitioners across the country.

In the Legislative Resources section, the Justice Center's government affairs team provides information on current and pending legislation relating to criminal justice/mental health issues.

Finally, the Technical Assistance Tools section contains a variety of interactive, online resources for policymakers, program planners, and others on topics they must tackle when designing collaborative, specialized responses to people with mental illnesses involved in the criminal justice system.
