State-Specific Work: Pennsylvania
Leaders in the Pennsylvania State Senate and House of Representatives have developed a resolution requesting information about the fiscal impact of three types of programs that work with people with mental illness in the justice system. The resolution directs the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to report about these programs and the desirability, viability and appropriateness of encouraging similar program development, implementation and funding options throughout the state. CSG will work with officials and researchers in the jurisdictions that the resolution names to help collect the information requested. The resolution has passed the House and the Senate.
