The directory of Program Profiles (formerly called the Program Examples Database) was created to present up-to-date information about initiatives around the country working to improve the response to people with mental illness involved in the criminal justice system, and to provide a venue for dialogue among policymakers, practitioners, and advocates working in this field.

Users of this inventory can:

• browse program examples by state, issue area, and various other criteria;
• direct questions online to program contact people;
• submit profiles of their own programs for inclusion; and
• show their support for other programs by serving as "stakeholders."

Consensus Project staff have not conducted an empirical evaluation of any of the examples provided in the inventory. Accordingly, the Consensus Project does not promote any of these programs as "models" or "best practices." Please send comments and suggestions to editors@consensusproject.org.
