Program Description
The Dual Diagnosis Court is a post adjudication alternative for offenders charged with felony drug possession who have been diagnosed as seriously mentally ill and have been sentenced under the Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention Act. The program is voluntary and defendants must agree to take prescribed medicines and comply with court orders to attend treatment and court progress review hearings. Participants have individualized treatment goals, but they are expected to remain in the program for a period of approximately 18 months prior to graduation.
