Justice Center Invites Content Submissions for Updated Consensus Project Web Site
The Justice Center formally unveiled this month substantial improvements to its Criminal Justice/Mental Health Consensus Project website, which were supported by the Bureau of Justice Assistance and the National Institute of Corrections. Visitors to the site can now create, share, update, and search online profiles of collaborative criminal justice/mental health programs. These program profiles are an important networking resource for program planners and administrators who want to promote their work and reach out to colleagues tackling similar issues across the country.
If you are a program administrator and your program is not yet on the Consensus Project Web site, you can create an online profile by registering or logging in (in the upper right corner of the page). Once logged in, you can answer questions about your program to help generate your profile. There are detailed questionnaires about mental health courts and specialized law enforcement programs, and a general survey of other types of criminal justice/mental health programs. (A detailed corrections survey is coming soon.) You can update your program as it evolves and post documents, such as promotional brochures, program evaluations, or published research, and coming soon, you will also be able to post news clips and announcements.
In addition to increasing the visibility of your program by featuring it on the Consensus Project’s national website, you can also treat your online profile as a “program Web page” of its own. Because you can post documents and continuously make updates to your profile, you can use your program’s site it to promote your efforts locally, by including the link in publicity materials, e-mails to potential funders, etc.
In addition to the field-generated, searchable database of program profiles, the new Consensus Project Web site also has
- an updated look and feel;
- a “How useful is this?” rating system for content on the site;
- more images, video, and other multimedia;
- enhanced search capabilities.
As always, we are interested in your feedback on how the website is working for you, and any changes/improvements you’d like to see. Please email us with comments, suggestions, and questions.
